Towards Carbon Neutrality

Sealing Glass Frits for Vacuum-Insulated Glass Windows and Doors

  • Our goal is to achieve carbon neutrality
through green building and zero-energy buildings.

  • With our high-insulation glasses, buildings
are more energy efficient, as required by intensified insulation regulations.

BASS Develops

Competitive and
Differentiated Pb-Free Materials

to Achieve Carbon Neutrality.

The Purpose of Vacuum Sealing

  • Vacuum created between the glass sheets prevents heat conduction and convection

    ▶ Minimizes heat transfer.
  • Low-E coating blocks radiant heat transfer
    ▶ Outstanding insulation performance.
  • Soundproofing vacuum
    ▶ Outstanding noise reduction.

The Need for Highly Adhesive Glass Frit
(Low-Temperature Sintering Type)

  • We use glass frits that can be sintered at a low temperature of around 400°C
to maintain the tempered glass substrate.
  • The glass frits we design provide better adhesion to tempered glass substrates.
  • Blocks penetration of moisture from external environment

▶ Ensures longer use and increases reliability.

The Need for Dispensing Paste

  • The term paste refers to a liquid-like substance that is composed of organic and
inorganic substances mixed in an appropriate ratio.
  • Homogeneous application of the paste on your desired spot and shape is possible during the dispensing process.
We Create Sustainable Societies for the Next Generation by

Building Carbon Neutral and Zero-Energy Buildings.

Schematic structure of Vacuum Insulated Glass

  • A pillar is used to maintain some distance between the two glass panes sealed with
    frit glass on the edges.
  • To prevent the transfer of heat, one of the two glass panes is coated with low-E coatings.
  • On the upper part of one of the two glass panes, a hole (ventilation hole) is punched for
draining the vacuum. A vacuum is created by exhausting the air within the space created after sealing
the edges of the two glasses.
  • The part where our material is applied is near the edge and ventilation hole of the
    vacuum multi-layer glass.

Requirements of Vacuum Multi-Layer Glass

  • High adhesion to glass substrate :

Thermal expansion coefficient matching with substrate and uniform stress distribution.
  • High reliability :

A high level of stability and reliability even after prolonged exposure to environmental factors,
    such as heat and moisture.

Customized Design

  • Our design for viscosity and solid content can be adjusted to meet customer requirements.
  • The product portfolio of our company can be tailored to meet the sintering temperature requirements of different customers.
  • Currently, we are developing low-temperature sintering products (below 390°C) for the Pb-free series.
